The Faculty of Arts & Science is a vibrant intellectual community of students and scholars who are deeply committed to excellence, discovery and diversity. Arts & Science represents over half the student population on the main downtown campus. We are home to 925 of the world’s top scholars and our Faculty is the largest in Canada and among the most comprehensive in North America.

The Colleges

The college system dates back to the earliest days of the University of Toronto. Each of the seven colleges on the downtown St. George campus is a unique community of scholars and students within the Faculty of Arts & Science. Every Arts & Science student is a member of a college.  Whether you live in residence or commute to campus, your college will be a familiar neighbourhood, bringing you together with people you may know for a lifetime.

Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering

The Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering is a centre of immense inspiration, remarkable innovation and endless possibilities.  Internationally recognized for its excellence in engineering education and research, the Faculty is known as a forward-thinking resource to address some of the world’s most pressing concerns.  Through the Faculty’s innovative curriculum that focuses on interactive and collaborative research and design, students become well-rounded, outstanding graduates, and are eligible to become registered Professional Engineers (P.Eng.).
